This mixed-media painting is a part of the series 'On the Wings of Hope'. It gives a message of hope. Just as the phoenix rises from ashes and gets transformed into a more beautiful bird, so can we human beings rise above our failures and emerge as being stronger and more competent.

The Story Behind

"Hope rises like a phoenix from the ashes of shattered dreams." - S.A. Sachs

Phoenix is a mythological bird. It is believed to rise from the ashes and emerges into an even more beautiful bird. This is the message of hope that I wish to convey in this painting. Life gives us our fair share of troubles, failures and setbacks. Each of these teaches us many important lessons and makes us stronger.

Many of my paintings, like this one, are influenced by the spontaneous and intuitive style of Jean-Paul Riopelle. This painting has a mix of abstract and figurative elements. It has a mix of the techniques of printmaking, painting and collage. The mix of abstract and figurative elements creates mystery and intrigue. It invites the viewer to look deeper into the painting.

Knowing where one wants to go, setting the goal and focusing on it are important in order to succeed. If one can eliminate distractions and stay focused on a single goal, success is not hard to attain. Sometimes it takes a young six-year old to remind us of this. It is based on a true story.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
