A Gray Store

Alexander Gray's store existed on Queens Road in 1860s.

His son, Albion Gray remodeled it and ran it as a grocery store.  People shopped locally for their basic needs. The big chain grocery stores didn't exist in those days.

This image also shows a horse drawn carriage, which was the common mode of transportation in 1900s.
