Foundry workers

Sackville was the industrial hub of the Maritimes in 1800s. Enterprise Foundry had ten huge wooden or brick buildings on Lorne Street [ link ]

The Fawcett Foundry had an elaborate set of buildings on King Street. The two foundries, were the major employers in Sackville.

Enterprise Foundry, dating back to 1872, had its own sales organization and distribution warehouses across Canada in the 1900s. Hundreds of workers were employed here to manufacture stoves, ranges, furnaces, and fulfill wartime demands.
