Owens Art Students

Owen's Art Gallery in Sackville opened in 1895. It was a large gallery space which housed the collection of Owens art institution in Saint John. The collection consisted of 400 paintings and 100 plaster casts.

The gallery was designed by a famous architect, Edmund Burke, in the Beaux-Arts style incorporating some of the elements of the Greek and Roman architecture.

Apart from serving as a gallery space, it was used for instructing the Ladies College students. More information can be found in the article Owens Art Gallery 1895-Present [ Link ]
