When do you see a rainbow in the sky? When the sun shines after a rainfall. What message does that convey? Whenever there are difficulties or challenges in life, one must remember that this too shall pass. The good times will return.

I created this Celestial Mug with those thoughts in mind. I wanted to create something beautiful, hopeful, and uplifting. How do you feel when you look at it? What feeling would you have when you drink out of it?

I have been experimenting with various glazes in an effort to get this effect that reminds one of the northern lights. It has been a long process of testing and not getting the desired results. Finally, I feel this celestial mug really does look like the heavenly sky that exists as the Northern Lights dance across the sky.

This mug has layers upon layers of overlapping glazes. The miracle happens when the glazes melt and interact with each other. It creates the depth while giving an amazingly beautiful effect, just like what one would see in the sky when the Norhern Lights put on a show.
