Centennial Hall

The image shows Mount Allison University students standing in front of the Centennial Hall, May 1887.

The construction for Centennial Hall began in 1883. It opened officially in October 1884. This stone building was named 'Centennial Hall' to commemorate 100 years of Methodism in the Chignecto area. It is a two storey building designed in Gothic revival style.

It contained a museum, library, laboratory and lecture rooms. It also contained a chapel, in the name of Reverend William Black, the founder of methodism in the maritimes.

Today the building houses administrative services for the Mount Allison University and remains an integral part of the Mount Allison campus.
