Every dot is a life.

Each wave has a special significance in this journey of transformation.

Every life impacted holds the potential of changing another.

‍Change Makers depicts the remarkable story of the 2,000 young people whose lives have been touched by Atlantic Wellness Community Centre, and of the people whose compassion, dedication, and belief in the power of timely mental health support made that transformation possible.

Five years ago, Atlantic Wellness launched A Wave of Change, fundraising campaign driven by a vision for a larger, more welcoming space and expanded counselling services for youth.

Inspired by the continuous flow of the Peticodiac River, the painting traces this journey through five waves: grey, the uncertainty and darkness of not knowing what lies ahead; red, unresolved issues; blue, denoting calm; green, leading towards growth and creativity; and yellow, radiating positivity, hope, and light.

The five trees also depict the five year time span. They are adorned with 2,000 colourful dots, represening the young lives positively affected by six counsellors and 40 interns.

The 46 symbols at the base of the waves honour these dedicated individuals who were the care givers in this journey of hope; while the words woven into the roots express the impact of the work they accomplished.

The story of Change Makers will continue with the 2,000 youth whose lives have been changed for the better. They are the future Change Makers.
