I am not a hockey player but I love to see the youngsters play hockey from a young age. I have a grand daughter who announced at age five that she was going to play hockey. The hockey gear probably weighed more than she did. The practices were early in the morning but did that deter her from playing hockey? No way! As an adult she continues to enjoy the sport. She is playing field hockey competitively.
Hockey is no doubt a fun team sport. Not every child will be a famous NHL player like Sidney Crosby but one can certainly dream to be one and have fun while working towards that goal.
