Imagine a garden filled with lush greenery, brilliant, colourful blossoms, alcoves draped with lovely vines, water fountains adding to the heavenly ambiance. Flowers show off their beauty and fill the air with their fragrance selflessly. They're delicate and short-lived but during that short span of time they radiate their beauty and fill the air with divine fragrance. Isn't this how life ought to be? Flowers teach us to give of ourselves selflessly. That really is the true essence of living.
I grew up in India. My mother's garden had beautiful roses, jasmines, marigolds, and bougainvilleas. Sitting outside in the evening, her garden would be filled with the delightful fragrance of Jasmine and Night Queen. Flowers bring colour and add joy to the living space. Living in Canada, I have been more aware of this because here fresh flowers are a luxury. I think a bouquet of flowers enhances my surroundings instantaneously. The flowers and their fragrance remind me to make my presence a source of joy to others.
