The story Behind

"Kind hearts are the gardens, kind thoughts are the roots, kind words are the flowers, kind deeds are the fruits. Take care of your garden and keep out the weeds. Fill it with sunshine, kind words and kind deeds." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Flowers bring positivity to a living space. They give of their beauty and fragrance freely and selflessly.

This painting is inspired by the flower markets in India. Early in the morning the flower vendors will be sitting on the sidewalk with their baskets full of flowers, with bunches of roses, gladiolus, garlands of jasmine flowers, and marigolds etc. The fragrance of the flowers would be divine and their beauty and freshness breathtakingly exquisite.

I grew up in India. My mother's garden had beautiful roses, jasmines, marigolds, and bougainvilleas. Sitting outside in the early morning or evening, her garden would be filled with the delightful fragrance of Jasmine and Night Queen. It felt like a little piece of heaven.

This impressionst style painting is an attempt to capture these scenes of flower market and a sense of the enchanting beauty that the flowers create.
